The time has come for Chicago Residents to initiate a petition calling for a binding referendum to authorize and establish an ordinance to recall The Mayor of Chicago from office.
In many states throughout the Midwest (including WI, MI, MO and OH), the mechanism is already in place for voters to recall their mayor when warranted. In 2010, the voters, by a 2:1 margin, approved an amendment to the Illinois Constitution to recall the Governor of Illinois. However, the power to recall the Mayor of Chicago does not exist.
We intend to change that by March of 2026 (the next primary election date) with the help of YOUR ballot signatures.
Section 6F: Article 7 of the Illinois Constitution provides for the opportunity to have a mayoral recall if there are sufficient signatures on petitions seeking such action. Such Home Rule Ordinances have already been enacted in Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, and Wheeling, IL.
UPDATE : we gathered over 7,000 signatures as of 4/11/26. Unfortunately that is far short of our goal of 56, 464. We are abandoning our campaign for Chicago Mayoral Recall at this time. We are moving forward with leaders who support the need of a Municipal Charter including recall for all City of Chicago Elected Officials, term limits and a reduction in members of City Council from 50 to 25.

By passing the Mayoral Recall Referendum, Chicago residents can ensure that the mayor in office is accountable 365 days a year during their term in office, not just on Election Day.
The most important factor of direct democracy is accountability to the citizens from the leaders they elect.”
John F Kennedy once famously said,” One person can make a difference, and everyone should try.”
Recall This Fall Needs Your Help.
Any US Citizen over 18 is eligible to pass petitions but the signatures must be of Chicago registered voters.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AND STREET FESTS -EVENTS THIS WEEK :
At your discretion, please feel free to download the petition and take it to any event where Chicago Voters would typically congregate. We have found Park District Events, Churches , (post services) Street Fairs and CTA Commuter stops to successfully get signatures. Please stay in the Public Way!
Ward Offices :
We encourage all Chicago Citizens to seek out their alderman and demand them to sign the petition and help gather signatures. If they believe in good governance and democracy, they should help in the petition effort.

He can run but he can't hide. Then had the nerve to make a joke in poor taste the next day about running from the press Like he is proud of it.
